Giving Your Compeitors the Finger!
Ok here is why I love Jerry West over at WebMarketingNow.com. I listen to Jerry’s advice all the time and you should to because he notices EVERYTHING!
Take his latest blog post for example. Jerry talks about “ambushing” your competition. But in the graphic example he gives in the war for luxury car sales between Audi and BMW, he should have called it “Giving the Finger to your Competition.”
For a long time BMW and Audi have a feud over who makes the best luxury car. BMW has always walked away with the title. But lately Audi has really stepped up to the plate and made some headway by improving their cars and trying to bump up their image.
But there is an expression called “getting too big for your britches” and in Audi’s latest ad campaign they REALLY stuck their foot in it.
In what I could only call a marketing “Bitch Slap”, BWM not only soundly puts Audi in their place, they also “dismiss” Audi at the same time. It’s pure genus! And a PERFECT example of “positioning” on BWM’s part.
