Creating Custom Landing Pages For Affilate Promotions:
If you use 1AutomationWiz.com to run your affiliate program, there are times where you might want to to create another couple of landing pages that affiliates can mail to in order to do conversion testing, or funnel prospects through a progression of content during a big launch like Andy Jenkins did with his latest launch of the VideoBoss product.
Well it’s actually easier then you might think to set this up when using the 1AutomationWiz.com affiliate software .
To set this up, you’ll use our special ” &U= redirect” feature and some special merge codes.
So let’s get started and see how this works:
There are a couple of ways to control where your affiliate’s links are pointing.
If you would like to give your affiliates control over which page their default link points, you give them the u-parameter.
Using this feature, your affiliate has control over where their DEFAULT link directs traffic.
The u parameter looks like this:
http://www.1automationwiz.com/app/?af=putMergefieldforAffiliateIDhere&u=www.TheNewURL.com
All you need to do is just add this link to an autoresponder message that you send your affiliates, telling them to use this NEW url the next time they do a mailing for you.
When they do, they traffic they send will be directed to the new page or url that you specified in the special link AND the affilate will still get the credit for the referral – even though it’s not their default affilate link.
Now here’s an example of the link above with the the merge field already added so you can see how it’s supposed to look when you are done.
http://www.1automationwiz.com/app/?af=%$afid$%&u=www.TheNewURL.com
Just change the landing page url in the link above for whatever landing pages you want to create.
For example:
http://www.1automationwiz.com/app/?af=%$afid$%&u=www.TheNewURL-1.com/page
http://www.1automationwiz.com/app/?af=%$afid$%&u=www.TheNewURL-2.com/page
http://www.1automationwiz.com/app/?af=%$afid$%&u=www.TheNewURL-3.com/page
Make sense?
Here’s how it works on the back end:
By adding that &u=www. onto the end of an existing default affiliate URL, you manually override the destination of the link and force the destination as whatever is entered in the parameter.
Alternatively, and moreover – the preferred recommendation is for you to setup as many different links and banners as you would like from within your account on our system.
You can point the media that you create to whatever destination you would like and your affiliates have access to them from within their login area.
The u-parameter does not work for media or subsequent programs and therefore the documentation on this method is not provided in the user guide as it only works for the default affiliate link.
We encourage the use of media instead.
To setup your Affiliate Media, please follow the steps below.
- Login to your Account
- Put your mouse over Email and Marketing/Affiliate Program and click on Manage Media.
From here you can setup a variety of different media types.
In addition, you have also requested a list of merge fields for your Autoresponder and Broadcasts.
This list is also posted within the UserGuide too.

The Video Boss – A Great Example of how to do online video
We all know that online video is the future of online marketing. Amazon, uses it on the most important area on its product pages. Take a look at the Kindle page and you’ll see what I mean.
EVERY SINGLE mult-million dollar launch online ALL have used video – in many cases foregoing a sales letter altogether in lieu of a video ONLY sales or optin page.
But the problem for most people is that these kinds of online videos and the “perceived production” quality has always been assuimed to be out of reach for the average online marketer.
The reality is that, it’s not that hard to make videos that look like these, you just have to know the way to do it. And until now, there wasn’t anyone really qulaified to explaine it, let alone hold your hand through the process.
Today however, that’s just not the case anymore. My good friend Andy Jenkins (Video editor / Producer extraordinaire) just spent the last six months doing nothing but building a new course on EXACTLY how to make online videos that just “Crush it” when it comes to sales, traffic, and conversion.
Just check out Andy’s new site and you’ll see what I mean. http://www.thevidboss.com
1AutomationWiz Gateway Setup Page Changes
A quick tour of the changes coming to your Gateway Setup page – January 27, 2010
Before we jump into the major changes, please note that this is for informational purposes only.
No action will be required and your current gateway setup will not be affected.
For most merchants this is a “Set-it & Forget-it” type page; these changes are aimed at helping new merchants get started quickly and existing merchants make adjustments easier, with less confusion.
The primary reason for this page change was to separate PayPal options and give them their own home:

All other Gateways can be found on the second tab titled ‘Setup Other Payment Options’:

Gateway Setup options are now all on 1 page (previously spanning 2 pages) and have been re-labelled for better clarity.
Again, this update does not require any response or action on your part and will not impact your account other than simplifying any future changes you want to make to your payment processing settings.
Coming January 27, 2010!
Updating Client Credit Card Info
Ok the truth is that some companies don’t always make it easy for their customers to update your credit card information.
And as a customer, if you have to purchase a product, make a phone call, or click through multiple web page links to enter your new credit card information, most users would just say it’s not worth jumping through all the hoops.
And these days people are getting smart about not sending sensitive personal credit information in an e-mail!
But on the other side of the coin, as a business owner, while you may lose sales because of outdated credit info, you also lose money having to pay a customer support reps to take down and update credit card numbers – when customers do call.
Worst of all though that if your method of updating credit card data is not secure, you risk HUGE fines from your credit card processor and perhaps even more importantly - Credibility with you customers.
It’s a tremendous problem, but is there a solution?
Yes, I’m happy to tell you that there is, and here’s how it works:
If you need a customer to update his or her credit card information, all you have to do is set up a FREE product in your 1AutomatonWiz.com shopping cart and redirect them to that shopping cart address so that they can update their credit card data themselves.
You’ll be able to update your customers’ credit card information – at zero cost to you, while they receive a newsletter, e-mail seminar, or other product absolutely free!
Now, your customers now have an incentive to update their information–with the added comfort of knowing their input is secure–and you maintain up-to-date records without the hassles of hiring extra customer service reps.
Pretty sweet trick eh?
Until next time,
Using Paypal – A Proven Way to Increase Sales!
Offering Paypal as a payment option on your checkout is a proven way to increase sales. We don’t have to tell you that!
But it’s not the seamless way to process a credit card or collect money on your web site.
So to help improve that, at the end of 2009 we worked closely with a team from PayPal to streamline and simplify our old Gateway Setup page.
Our goal was to make it easier for you to set up and start taking orders quickly. And we did it!
Check these changes out and you’ll see what we mean.

Streamlined Order Process:
- Only the fields you need for your selections will appear
- Everything you need on one page; no more 2 step process and hidden fields!
- Clearer separation of primary and secondary gateways
Easier PayPal Setup:
- PayPal provided their suggestions helping build the new PayPal tab, designed to help you increase your bottom line by getting you set up to take PayPal orders quickly – with no fuss.
